What is Forgiveness?

Forgiveness is the act of letting go of anger, resentment, or the desire for revenge toward someone who has hurt us. It does not mean forgetting or excusing the wrongdoing, but rather choosing peace over bitterness. Forgiveness frees the mind and heart, allowing us to heal, rebuild relationships, and move forward with clarity and compassion. In many ways, forgiving others is also a gift to ourselves—it lightens emotional burdens and creates space for inner growth and happiness.
